Dental Implants
Teeth-in-an-hour™ Dental Implants by Fort Worth Oral Surgeon Dr. John Stella can replace a single tooth, several missing teeth, or a complete denture in both the upper and lower jaws. The dental prosthesis can be affixed the same day the dental implants are placed. Dr. Stella practices dental implant dentistry in his Fort Worth, Arlington and Weatherford office locations and partners with restorative dentists to serve their patients.
Teeth-in-an-hour™ dental implants are the perfect solution for people who have no teeth (or will have the teeth removed) in either top jaw or bottom jaw. Historically, patients would have multiple dental implant surgeries over the course of four-to-nine months to obtain what can now be completed in approximately one hour by Dr. John Stella.

About Dental Implants
The process utilizes recognized best practices: A CT scan is used with Virtual Reality software to plan the dental implant placement and fabricate the final bridge (teeth replacement) before the surgery is even performed. This computer guided dental implant surgery is extremely accurate, safe, and allows for virtually painless dental implant treatment.
Facial & Oral Surgery Associates is the first regional center serving Fort Worth to offer Teeth-in-an-hour™. The accuracy that the CT scan and computer software provides, coupled with the immediate placement of dental implants and your final teeth replacement has many benefits to the patient. Our patients are back to work two- to- three days later and are enjoying their new smiles immediately. Dr. Stella works closely with your dentist to plan your teeth restoration. Implant dentistry involves a cooperative effort between an oral and
maxillofacial surgeon, a restorative dentist, a dental hygienist and a
laboratory technician. A dental implant is a titanium cylinder used to
replace a root of a missing tooth. Dental implants may replace one or
more teeth. A full arch of missing teeth may be restored with as few
as four to six implants.
Commonly treated problems:
- Missing any one to all teeth
- Loose dentures
- Tooth loss
- Damage to teeth and jaws due to accidents
- Loss of teeth or bone due to tumor removal
- Birth defects such as cleft lip and palate

Treatment:
There may be several stages to implant reconstruction. First, the implant(s) are surgically placed. A biological process causes natural bone to bond strongly to the implant(s). This is “osseointegration.” In the second stage, teeth are secured to the implants. This stage may occur at the same time as implant placement or delayed several months, depending on how tightly the implant(s) enters the bone at the time of placement. In the final stage, the restorative dentist constructs esthetic teeth on top of the implants. In select cases, all stages may be accomplished in a single visit.
Outcome:
- The look, feel and function of natural teeth
- Elimination of nausea, gagging or loss of taste associated with dentures
- Natural teeth need not be damaged
- Dramatically slows the rate of jawbone shrinkage that occurs with removable dentures
- Return of natural facial features around lips and mouth
- Ability to eat favorite foods again
- Renewed confidence in any social setting
- A smile that can change your future
